Camel Hair • Source : Bactrian camels • Main Protein : Keratin • Characteristics : Soft undercoat, good insulation, warm, golden tan color, used in luxury outerwear. ⸻ 7. Vicuña • Source : Vicuña (wild South American camelid) • Main Protein : Keratin • Characteristics : Rare and expensive, very fine and soft, warm, light brown/golden color. ⸻ 8. Llama • Source : Llama (closely related to alpaca) • Main Protein : Keratin • Characteristics : Coarser than alpaca, still warm and durable, often blended with other fibers. ⸻ 9. Silk • Source : Silkworms (primarily Bombyx mori) • Main Protein : Fibroin • Characteristics : Smooth, glossy, strong for its weight, excellent drape and dyeability, hypoallergenic. • Types of Silk : • Mulberry Silk : Finest and most common, from domesticated silkworms. • Tussah (Tasar) Silk : Coarser and darker, from wild silkworms. • Eri Silk : Matte finish, warm; from Samia ricini worms. • Muga Silk : Rare golden-yellow silk from Assam, India.
